ABOUT US

Clevedon Canoe Club started in late September 2006 as part of an initiative of the Marine Lake Enthusiasts Society (MARLENS) to encourage more use of the Clevedon Marine Lake, which we use for practising and generally paddling about as well as venturing out on to the sea when the tide is right.

We are affiliated with the British Canoe Union, which is the governing body for the sport of canoeing and kayaking.

Membership has grow quickly and already exceeds 200. Most members are novices but we are building our skills gradually and have a a few coaches spreading their skills. Most Saturdays we paddle in Clevedon marine lake but from autumn to spring we have access to Clevedon swimming pool for training sessions. We have a number of club kayaks for people to use, as well as one open canoe so people can also try their hand at other crafts.
