12-Hour Distance Paddle on Clevedon Marine Lake in Aid of Meningitis Now

26th May 2018 @ 9am - 9pm

This year Clevedon Canoe Club is aiming to raise £2000 for Meningitis Now by holding a 12 hour sponsored paddle on the Marine Lake, on Saturday 26th May.
We will be continuously paddling laps from 9am to 9pm, with the distance paddled being logged and recorded.
Your support is key in making this event a success and we need volunteers to join us by paddling laps for sponsorship, recording and logging laps paddled.
We also need help to run a variety of competitions onshore, including an Ergo Paddling Machine Competition and Guess the number of balls in the kayak competition.

There will also be a Cake Sale, (for which we also need volunteers to bake cakes ), and there will also be a demonstration of throw line rescues by the local Coastguard.

Without your help, Meningitis Now wouldn’t be able to help people cope after meningitis; they couldn’t support them as they face a life that will never be the same again.
Help save and change lives, now and in the future. With no central Government funding, Meningitis Now are reliant on people like you helping them to raise the £4 million they need to support people facing meningitis every year.

We’ve chosen Meningitis Now as our charity, in support of one of our Club Members, Steve Lawes.   Steve is the leader of the Safety Team that lead and guide Meningitis Now UK Mountain Challenges such as the Three Peaks and Trek The Lakes (8in48).  Steve has been on the Safety Team since 2001 and took over as the Safety Team Leader in 2013.
