The AGM was combined with a party celebrating the clubs birthday party, held at the Clevedon Conservative Club.
Food was provided by the in-house caters for 80 people and Bob Slee and the Club chipped in with some extra gooey deserts for the sweet toothed members.
The official part of the night was covered first, but was light hearted with a reviews by Gavin (Chair) combining "word bingo" to keep the audience involved,
Martin (Treasurer) and Steve (Vice-chair). Nigel completed the proceeding by covering new committee elections and constitutional amendments.
The metting was closed and food was served before getting on with the party and fun and games, including the kids' favourite "the chocolate game".
Special thanks to Nigel Barnes for organising the agenda and providing a project and screen so a rolling backdrop of photo from events across the year
could be run, Alison Holland and Julie Bugler for organising games, Martin Aspinall for sorting out the catering.
A sad farewell to Neil Banwell who stepped down from the committee, congratulations to those staying for a second year, and a warm welcome to new committee members:
Chris Payne, Dan Bouvet, Clive Bishop, and Paul Farmer.
Finally, congratulations to Tom Barnes who was awarded the new Clevedon Canoe Club Arthur Knott Youth Award.
The award was made due to Tom's outstanding progress over the last year, he regular attends and helps out at club events, and has now started helping to
coach other club members. |
