Blackpool Sands to Brixham Harbour

Another early start (7:30) was slightly delayed by Martin returning home to retrieve his kit from the airing cupboard (undies we think as Christine won't let him put his kayak there). We eventually arrived at Blackpool Sands beach, unloaded and after applying tons of sun block we set off.

Along the way we did a bit of slaloming round the rocks beneath the cliffs and investigated some caves and a waterfall, although when we noticed its unusual aroma we kept back a bit.

We kept tight together as we paddled across the Dartmouth estuary, which wasn't too busy with shipping. Around the back of a small island we paddled around, a couple of seal popped up to check us out. We eventually reached Southdown for a brief bite to eat.

When we restarted, the tide was against us as we approach Berry Head. The combination of wind, tide and the motorboat wash made paddling interesting at times and I learnt some new french words from one member but everyone coped without capsizing.

Just as we approached Brixham harbour, Vince developed cramp so we practised towing. All in all a fantastic day out and very eventful.
