Trips
There are two types of trip that occur - Club Trips and informal trips arranged directly between paddlers.
Club Trip
A trip is a club trip if it is listed on the events page or in a club email. In this case the club has a duty of care and liability insurance. The trip will be organised and led by a capable club member(s). Not all trips are suitable for all abilities, and where possible clear information will be provided.
Members responsibility on trips
If you're on a club trip, please
- Follow instructions from the trip leader, on the water or off
- Turn up on time, with the right equipment.
- Share lifts where appropriate. If someone is giving you a lift, pay a share of the costs.
- Park responsibly (particularly when lots of people are loading and unloading at the boatshed) - it does get noticed both in Clevedon and at put-ins.
- Look out for each other on the water and stick together.
- Bear in mind that the leader may cancel the trip due to weather at any time.
Leading club trips
Any club trip must be led by a competent individual, as described in the trip leading policy.
'Group of friends' trip
This is an informal trip organised between padddlers who may or may not have met each other through the club. The club has no responsibility in any way for these trips, even if all the people on the trip are members and using club equipment.
Club equipment is available for hire, but if damaged or lost/stolen, the hirer is responsible for all replacement costs.
